Overview:
A boutique law firm in Roseville, CA is seeking an experienced Trust and Estate Planning Paralegal to join a growing Northern California team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in Trusts & Estates, including substantial work in Trust Administration, Probate, and Estate Planning. We are looking for a self-starter, detail-oriented professional, and team player with strong organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of trust administration, probate, and related court proceedings, including:
- Communicating with clients and beneficiaries
- Preparing deeds, asset spreadsheets, federal estate tax returns, gift tax returns
- Drafting correspondence and other legal documents
- Support attorneys in estate planning matters, including:
- Preparing draft estate planning documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance health care directives, certifications of trust, funding documents)
- Organizing client intake materials
- Assisting in plan implementation and trust funding
- Collect, organize, and maintain client documents and information for trust administration, probate, and estate planning matters
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive client information
- Perform calendaring duties for meetings, deadlines, hearings, and trial-related dates
- Handle additional tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of Trusts & Estates paralegal experience
- Strong knowledge of Trust Administration, Probate, and Estate Planning
- Excellent organizational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with matter management, document management, or accounting software is a plus
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred, but candidates with significant relevant experience will be considered
